Background

A secure and sustainable supply of raw materials is fundamental to the resilience and competitiveness of Malaysia's steel industry. As the industry transitions towards lower-carbon steelmaking technologies, access to steel scrap and other strategic raw materials will become increasingly important. This programme is therefore established to strengthen raw material security, improve supply chain resilience, and support the industry's long-term growth and decarbonisation objectives.
