Background

The long-term competitiveness of Malaysia's steel industry depends on its ability to move up the value chain and increase the production of higher value-added steel products. Strengthening downstream capabilities will improve industry profitability, create new market opportunities, and enhance the overall resilience of the steel ecosystem. This programme is therefore established to promote product upgrading, downstream development, ESG adoption, and greater value creation across the industry.
